This is a light coverage all over, but you can easily build it up to very full coverage.Īlthough I tend to prefer a concealer with more of a dewy finish, I actually really like this.

I applied the concealer a little bit like a foundation, using the small Real Techniques Setting brush* to lightly buff the two shades into my skin in a soft, circular motion. After – The Ordinary Concealer in 1.2Y & 2.0Pīecause this concealer has has a matte finish I prepped my skin with my glowiest moisturiser, Creme de La Mer. And then I used a mix of both just to even out areas on my cheeks, forehead and sides of my face. I ended up using both 1.2Y (more under the eyes) and a light layer of 2.0P over redness on the chin and around the nose. My only gripe? The tube of the concealer is quite small and if I was going to work and social events as normal, I would get through it fairly quickly. The letter P is pink, R is red, N is neutral and Y is yellow. The numbers 1-4 represent skin tone (1 in lighter tones, 2 is medium, 3 is dark/deep and 4 is deeper), while the letters correspond to undertone. To get around this, The Ordinary has categorised its 36 concealer shades according to skin tone and undertone. When it comes to purchasing base products online, it can be confusing to know which shade will be your best match. It also sets fairly quickly but I like this as it means I can build up coverage without the product sliding around. After a few taps, it melts into skin., covering my undereye circles and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. But The Ordinary’s creamy iteration buffs out like a dream. Many high coverage concealers often have thicker consistencies that can be hard to blend and settle into lines around the eyes.
